In two pages, no less....

You should thank Providence that the authors of this document are so willing to do your thinking for you.

It is interesting to note that the authors of the petition state that the blog does not represent their views and then goes on to state that the blog doesn't represent the majority of people in the A&S.

1) The blog has never restricted the authors of the petition from writing blog entries and comments to other blog entries that I know of. The administrators of the blog even posted their petition! How much more open is there than that? Of course openess and transparency in communications is not the objective of the petition.

2) The authors of the petition must live in some hermeticaly sealed chamber that is distinct from the college as these are the comments that I am hearing for most our members!

Incidently, I have taken to posting anonymously as there is considerable evidence that several administrators attempted to silence me when I published my name. Ther is retribution for open statements on this campus!

I was just reading the "petition" to shut the blog down. What a puree of bat shit! My favorite point of theirs is that if you do a Google search on "University of Toledo Arts & Sciences Council" that your blog is one of the first to come up. Like they have any say about what goes on the Internet under that name! I could create a Web site entitled "University of Toledo Arts & Sciences Council Sucks" and there's nothing they could do about it. Also, the request to have faculty members sign the petition is suggestive to me of the type of loyalty oaths that Communist states expect academics and others to sign, on pain of imprisonment or worse.

Keep fighting the good fight...
