We can do this! There is a billboard right on Dorr Street across from campus. A call for donations is going out right now. One rich, angry alumnus is all it will take to make this unsubtle message appear large as life! A line will form. Everyone is fed up!

The latest mention of UT in the Chronicle makes me ashamed to be an alumnus of this institution.

Does anyone have news that they wish to share concerning what happened at the ASC meeting on July 16?

I heard it was eventful, with large turnout, and that many people spoke.

What decisions were reached? I am very sorry that I was unable to attend and find out for myself.

Much was made of the Blade's (read John Block's) personal enmity toward Vik Kapoor and a resulting Blade campaign (both overt and behind the scenes) to get rid of him. While I think that there is probably some truth to this - perhaps a great deal of truth - another factor that was most significant was the conduct of the UT Board. Prior to Kapoor's (forced) resignation he was under intense pressure to give a highly-paid upper-administrative job to the wife of one of the trustees. He was also under pressure to alter the specs for a dorm. There is a practice of evading Ohio's competitive bidding laws by "spec'ing" a job so as to pretty much determine who will get the contract. Those are only two examples. It's a shame that UT - and Ohio's higher education system generally - were sold out so cheaply. Kapoor's board consisted largely of political operatives - Taft fundraisers - who had little interest or understanding of higher education.

Dear Bloggie and Horns 'n Fins.

What clever cartoons! They're masterpieces!

I like "Synergies" ('This is an interdisciplinary program in which physics students try to hit psychology students with pendulums' ~ 'Promising'). Haha!

"Billboards spotted on I-75, 'Miss Me Yet?'" and also your Mr. Potato Heads - So cute!

You're all so creative! I love American humor! You guys are great!
