Training the Big Wheels

Only $161.99 at Overstock.com, this handy apparatus could have saved the University $388,838.01 up front, not to mention the additional bonus money that will be paid for further on-the-job training.

Upper level UT administrators should get one in lieu of bonuses and salary until their on-the-job training is complete. For some of them this on-the-job training period has been going on for more than five years. Obviously they haven't heard of probationary 90 day hiring periods.

But one can just picture them on their little bikes, riding up and down the big third floor hallway in University Hall, just like big, albeit exceptionally well paid, kids.  They would do less harm that way.

Spoiled, self-centered children. This certainly describes our administrators and BOT members who believe themselves exempted from accountability.

The Jacobs Prophecy has converted the BOT and Columbus.

In the Jacobs Prophecy 'times they are a changin,' i.e. faculty are no longer sacred but instead are a highly educated and bloated labor force to be exploited.

The dangers for the Jacobs Prophecy are: 1. there is a change in Columbus. 2. Enrollment declines convince the BOT that the decline isn't part of the Jacobs Prophecy. The Jacobs Prophecy ceases to be prophecy and becomes mismanagement. 3. Jacobs & Co. make some public gaffe that the BOT cannot tolerate.

You must be kidding. Did you watch Scarborough spilling his incompetence in Doermann Theatre? Instead of answering questions directly, he kept referring to studies.

Obviously, he does not think he needs the training wheels. Instead the university becomes his bicycle for joyriding at taxpayers' expense...
