UT's Officially Disapproved Information Source and HISTORICAL ARCHIVE. The only source of truth, where Paradox Manifests: Hundreds of thousands of visits. Yet No One Admits to Reading It. Welcome to the "Grey Area" where "Unethical Utterances," i.e., criticisms of administrators, are commonplace. Make U.U. here where genuine civility still reigns, a.k.a., freedom......................... UNIVERSITY OF TOLEDO'S EQUIVALENT TO RADIO FREE EUROPE
Jacobs' arrogance is astonishing
It's the same old, same old at UT
. . . . Either Jacobs is misleading the media or he has misled the Board of Trustees. President Jacobs objected to "the general tone" of the UT-AAUP Newsletter. Many persons on this campus object to the "general tone" of the Jacobs Administration. During his tenure as President, he has introduced an administrative culture of fear and intimidation. . . . A point of logic must be raised here, with all respect to UT AAUP, the conclusions that President Jacobs has (1) misled the media and (2) the Board of Trustees are not mutually exclusive. Both would seem likely given his considerable talent at spinning "visions." |

It's high time for the Ohio General Assembly to grow a pair of cojones and pass legislation that forces Cleveland State, Akron, Kent State and Youngstown State to sit down and begin talks about merging.
The employee and programming slaughter now in progress at Akron only further underscores the unsustainability of Ohio's system of higher education and the need for dramatic, meaningful reform.
and BG and UT?
After the UT-MUO merger (hostile takeover?) I always thought BG and Owens would merge.
Did anyone see these little gems on the mess at Akron?

Why is it wherever these folks go, a shitstorm follows?
Here's the headline of another gem that appears in today's Akron Beacon Journal: "Fired University of Akron painter spills the details of president’s $951,824 house remodel."

The fusillade of newspaper and social media criticism of the former Main Campus Provost and his strategic initiatives continues unabated.
And his vice president for advancement--UT's former bow-tie designer--seems powerless to halt it.
Post about Akron are all fun and games, but at point this why does it matter here? Time to focus attention back to UT as challenges and issues still exist that the new President and her senior administration - currently going through many major changes (with many more to come in next year)- will soon have to address including with staff and faculty.
What are the challenges and issues the new president faces?
And what are the major senior administrative changes on the horizon?
budget, enrollment/retention, fund raising, prepare for HLC report and visit, additional faculty hires (addressing hiring plans and retirements), new campus master plan - the issues and challenges still remain
new chief of staff, new VP marketing/advancement, will need new Deans for YouCollege and Honors (or even decide what to do with these two messes of colleges), search for new CFO, CIO?, likely national search for new Provost, review and decisions on other administration positions and staff including current Deans
