UT's Officially Disapproved Information Source and HISTORICAL ARCHIVE. The only source of truth, where Paradox Manifests: Hundreds of thousands of visits. Yet No One Admits to Reading It. Welcome to the "Grey Area" where "Unethical Utterances," i.e., criticisms of administrators, are commonplace. Jacobs' arrogance is astonishing
It's the same old, same old at UT
. . . . Either Jacobs is misleading the media or he has misled the Board of Trustees. President Jacobs objected to "the general tone" of the UT-AAUP Newsletter. Many persons on this campus object to the "general tone" of the Jacobs Administration. During his tenure as President, he has introduced an administrative culture of fear and intimidation. . . . A point of logic must be raised here, with all respect to UT AAUP, the conclusions that President Jacobs has (1) misled the media and (2) the Board of Trustees are not mutually exclusive. Both would seem likely given his considerable talent at spinning "visions." |

I was very impressed. She presented herself very well and had a a good grasp on many of the issues facing higher education. She has experience as a faculty member, union member, researcher, dean and provost.
She also showed humane qualities which is certainly refreshing.
Even Zerby said. "she hit it out of the park".
Amazing what happens when you conduct a real national search and draw top qualified candidates like Wheatly and Gaber, both of whom have been finalists at other major state institutions, so clearly others have also seen their potential. Perhaps the UT community will finally get the true leader they have needed and deserved for so long. Yes many problems remain but at least having any experienced and qualified President is a big step forward.
Williams is getting the job
Who is Williams?
How did you hear about Williams? I thought that was top-secret?
Williams? I know tennis may have confused you, but not all African-Americans are named Williams.
This just so rude.

I agree, but are you really surprised at a middling university like UT?
She was a little long-winded but very presidential. I liked what she had to say.
