As Clear as Mud. . .

Reports from the Arts & Sciences Chairs Meeting last week say that only the following numbers of visitor slots for departments had been approved by the Provost to that date.  The following list was read (but not distributed) to the chairs:

HISTORY  1

PHILOSOPHY 3

PHYSICS 1

THEATRE 2

ART 2

CHEMISTRY 3

ENGLISH 7

FOREIGN LAN. 1

MATH 20

MUSIC 3

One chair asked about when his department should start canceling classes.  He was told to hold off.

Part Time positions were reported as still "up in the air." 

Allegedly the above numbers are still being negotiated by the Dean's office.  

It is unclear who will teach many A&S classes this Fall.
